This session will cover key lessons learned from the Auditor General’s performance audit of the ArriveCAN app’s contracting, development, and implementation by the Government of Canada. The discussion will focus on takeaways for procuring authorities, including procurement planning, governance and structuring, non-competitive procurement best practices, and managing the aftermath of a procurement crisis.
Presenters: Marianne Smith and Alexis Levine from Blakes, Cassels & Graydon LLP.
  • Marianne Smith, leader of the Blakes Procurement group, represents domestic and international clients across various sectors, advising procuring entities and bidders on conducting successful procurement processes, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance.
  • Alexis Levine, co-leader of the Blakes Public Sector Crisis & Compliance group, advises on public and political law issues, including lobbying, gifting rules, conflict of interest, access to information disclosures, election finance rules, and more.
