When OPBA’s recently formed DEI Committee members sat down to create an action plan, they wondered what they could do that would be helpful and meaningful to members. Instead of developing a plan in isolation, they decided to host an OPBA Talks session and invite members to tell them what actions and resources they would like to see. Member’s comments and ideas may pertain to public procurement practices or to the association. The committee is starting with an empty cup and they are inviting members to help fill it up.
Our goal is to create an open mic forum where OPBA members feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, ideas and experiences. What actions can we take to ensure that the association and the profession not only have DEI on their radar but are taking concrete steps. The discussion will help the committee develop an action plan to move DEI forward in the public procurement profession.
OPBA’s Committee members:
Kim Squires, Chair, County of Peterborough Sherry Adams, Grey County
Dan Munshaw, OECM Karl Nana Payong, Conseil scolaire catholique Providence (Csc Providence)
Anne-Marie Ricketts, Town of Whitby Rozalyn Werner-Arcé, OPBA
Can’t make the meeting but have thoughts to share? Send them to: members@opba.ca.
Free to OPBA Members.
