The Advanced Procurement for Construction text is a compendium chapter to the OPBA’s textbook, The Principles of Effective Public Procurement, designed to present an overview of procurement relating to construction projects, including new builds, renovations and demolitions. This text includes necessary components to the construction procurement process in sufficient detail to provide to Principles Program participants, and to those who would read these chapters for general interest, an excellent working guide to the entire process from concept to final completion and review. 

This Advanced Construction course is an elective course, therefore it is not mandatory to complete if you are working toward writing the Principles Program exam.  

To those procurement professionals in the public sector who are called upon for their expertise in developing and administering large, sometimes complex procurements for construction, this chapter will provide a compendium of helpful information not only for the tendering process but for other considerations about which owners need to be mindful.
